Book clubDeutsches Haus offers a book club for people interested in reading and discussing contemporary German literature. It is open to people who can speak and read German with some proficiency, but is not restricted to fluent speakers. Originally designed to give students the opportunity to practice German in a relaxed environment outside of the classroom. The Book Club is now open to non-students as well. Registered Deutsches Haus students pay a membership fee of $20, NYU students pay a membership fee of $30 and non-students pay a membership fee of $40 per semester. The Kathrin Jonas Buchclub generally meets on Friday evenings between 6 PM and 7:30 PM at Deutsches Haus. Unfortunately, the Deutsches Haus Book Club for Fall 2007 is at maximum capacity and is no longer accepting new members. If you'd like more information, or would like to join the Book Club, please contact Bernd at dhbuchclub@mac.com . |
