CALA Spring 2017 Foreign Film Series: Margarethe von Trotta's "Hannah Arendt"
Friday, March 24, 6:00 p.m.
Deutsches Haus at NYU
In our increasingly fractured world, multiple perspectives are more important than ever, and women's views of our existence must reach more screens. CALA's spring film series features the works of six international female filmmakers. In addition to Margarethe von Trotta's Hannah Arendt (2012), the following movies will be shown: Iciar Bollain's Flores De Otro Mundo (Flowers from Another World, 1999), Huang Shuqin's 人鬼情 (Woman Demon Human, 1987), Liliana Cavan's Il Portiere Di Notte (The Night Porter, 1974), Susan Bier’s Efter Brylluppet (After the Wedding, 2006) and Deniz Gamze Erguven’s Mustang (2016). All of the films are introduced by NYU faculty and are shown at various venues, including Deutsches Haus at NYU, Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimòand and King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center.
With RSVP, this event is free of charge. If you would like to attend, please register here.
Space at Deutsches Haus is limited; please arrive ten minutes prior to the event. Thank you!
