In her street photography project Home Sweet Home the photographer Stefanie Schmid Rincon focuses on Berlin’s Neukölln neighborhood and its places, people, and situations, which show the viewer another side of Germany. Stefanie Schmid Rincon's use of analog black and white photography paints a picture of a crucial part of the city that has undergone a drastic change in the last few years, deeply emphasizing the everyday life of multiple cultures that exist side by side. Home Sweet Home was created over three years and Stefanie will continue to capture this part of Berlin going forward. Home Sweet Home has been exhibited in Berlin as part of the Month of Photography and also at the Goethe-Institut in Bogota, Colombia.
Stefanie Schmid Rincon grew up between Colombia and Germany. She moved to Berlin in 2008 where she graduated from Neue Schule für Fotografie Berlin in 2014 and has been working as a freelance photographer for the past 5 years. Film stills, fashion lookbooks, and diverse documentary photography projects around the world are just some of Stefanie's ongoing projects. Stefanie was shortlisted for several important international awards. During the past 5 years, her work has been exhibited successfully in the international art world, including shows in the UK, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, and Germany. She lives and works in Berlin.
